BASICS
Okecie Airport is six miles (10 km) southwest of the center of Warsaw.
TAXI
If you decide to take a taxi always go to the taxi stand outside of the arrivals terminal. Do not take a ride from the people soliciting riders in the terminal as you leave customs. Agree on the fare before you depart. It should be about 37-45 zlotys ($8-$10) to the city center. Some drivers will want more but you can negotiate or simply go to another cab.
BUS
The Marriott offers an excellent mini-bus service to the center. The cost is a few dollars more than the Airport-City shuttle bus (see next paragraph), but you go right to the Marriott in the center by the main rail station. From the Marriott you can catch a certified taxis to your final destination. The mini-bus runs every 15 minutes from 6 A.M. to 8 P.M., and then every half hour until 10 P.M. Fare is about 22 zlotys ($5).
There is also an Airport-City shuttle bus called Budget Shuttle that goes to major hotels in the city. It costs about 13 zlotys ($3) and runs every every 10-15 minutes from 4:50 A.M. to 11 P.M. You can get a ticket at the Orbis (tourist agency) counter in the arrivals hall.
RENTAL CAR
Orbis S.A. Hertz, Americana, Avis, Budget, ECU, Eurodollar, Lech, and Transit Travel, are companies doing business in Warsaw. It is advisable to make reservations as far in advance as possible.
